EHS Student Association
Environmental Health Science Student Association (EHSSA)
Organization Purpose
The EHSSA is a great supplement to the Environmental Health Science (EHS) Program. EHSSA strives
to enrich students through exposure to real world experiences in the environmental
and occupational health fields that they may not be exposed to in the classroom. The
purpose of this organization is to have fun in a natural environmental setting while
also providing service and education to the outside community!
Mission
The mission of the Environmental Health Science Student Association (EHSSA) coincides
with the mission of the Environmental Health Science (EHS) Program at Western Kentucky University. This mission is to educate
students in preparation for an exciting career in the environmental health sciences.
The EHS Program is committed to providing south central Kentucky, the state, and the
nation with entry-level environmental professionals. The program provides students
with a background in assessing environmental resources, including water, air, and
land resources, in relation to environmental and human health.
Vision
Our vision is to see an overall improvement in human and ecosystem health on campus
and in our community in relation to the environment. We believe that as an organization,
the small steps we take can make a great beginning for a healthier change in the community.
Who Should Join?
All WKU students interested in the environment are welcome to join the EHSSA. Particularly
those interested in studying the influence of environmental hazards on human health!
