Fall 2021 TOP FAQ

As WKU continues to take steps to protect all members of our community—including future Hilltoppers like you—we have made the decision to offer two (2) formats for TOP. Students can choose between a virtual TOP, or an in-person TOP.

Virtual TOP, known as TOP Live, will occur live over zoom. These sessions will last about 1.5 hours. Students and their guests will learn about class registration and graduation requirements, meet other students, attend an advising session, and register for classes.

In-person TOP will happen on WKU’s main-campus in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Students and their guests will learn about class registration and graduation requirements, meet other students, attend an advising session, and register for classes. This program will last all day. We ask that you plan to be on-campus until 4:30pm the day of your TOP

To accommodate as many new Hilltoppers as possible, each student is allowed to bring one (1) guest. We will not be able to accommodate more than one (1) guest per student due to COVID-19 guidelines.

You must confirm your major before registering for TOP due to certain majors having certain TOP dates. This means when your register for TOP, only certain dates will appear according to your major.

Changing your major can impact which TOP date you are eligible to attend.  If you want to change your major after you have registered for TOP, please contact the TOP office as soon as possible at 270-745-4242 or top@wku.edu.

TOP dates appear on the registration form according to major. If you and your friend have different majors, you may have TOP dates appearing on your registration form that differ from your friend.

Virtual TOP, known as TOP Live, will occur live over zoom. These sessions will last about 1.5 hours. Students and their guests will learn about class registration and graduation requirements, meet other students, attend an advising session, and register for classes.

Yes, WKU will follow all state and CDC guidelines for all in-person TOPs. During your in-person TOP sessions, guests will be socially distanced and required to properly wear a mask at all times, unless consuming food or beverage. You can view WKU’s Healthy on The Hill guidelines here.
