Dr. Butterfield teaches a variety of courses in the Information Systems field including Database Management, Systems Development, Computer Architecture, Business Telecommunications and Project Management. He has ten years experience as an electronic engineer working with medical instrumentation design , compliance testing, and clean-room manufacturing. He has managed " maquiladora' facilities in Tijuana Mexico and has consulted for firms seeking to move their operation offshore.

He enjoys speaking in various forums and has lectured on Setting Up Manufacturing in Mexico, Managing Technical Professionals, Jumpstarting the Design Process, and Emerging Career Trends in the 21st Century.
