Bio
Melinda Edgerton earned her bachelor’s degree in French and Religious Studies at WKU in 1999. She earned her master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, and is currently working toward a second bachelor's degree in Spanish. Since 2002, Melinda has been working within the field of international education, supporting students going to overseas destinations, including China. She has served as Education Abroad Advisor and part-time instructor of Intercultural Communication at the University of Kentucky, and most recently as Study Abroad Advisor at WKU. Her focus on international education has included study abroad in Ghana, teaching in China, service-learning in the Dominican Republic, and a nearly two-year stint in the Netherlands. As coordinator of the Chinese Language Flagship, Melinda advises students individually, prepares them for study abroad experiences in China, and is co-leader of the Winter term China program for first year students.
