Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant

Ms.Peiyu Lin, originally from Taipei,Taiwan, is a Fulbright Teaching Assistant for the 2013-2014 academic year at WKU. She has 5 years of experience teaching Chinese and English in elementary schools in Taiwan, and brings her enthusiasm for teaching Chinese to Flagship students in individual tutoring sessions and weekly cultural events.
Lin receieved her master's degree in Elementary English Education in 2012.
The following year, she received the certification of Proficiency in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, granted by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
When asked why this experience has been significant for her, she says she has fulfilled her dream of visiting America, because she's also a long-term English learner. In her opinion, she's a "sharer,"not a "teacher." She says that it is her honor to share her knowledge of Chinese and Asian Cultures. In addition, she is also glad to experience western cultural interactions with her students, colleagues and members of the community. She is thankful for all of her experiences since arriving in America, calling it "the blessing of destiny."
Her aim is to cherish and seize every moment to enjoy the beauty of America.
