Mr. Ken Whitley has been at WKU for 23 years. His degrees are an A.S. degree in Nursing, a B.S. degree in Health Care Administration, and a M.S. degree in Health Science. While practicing nursing, he worked in the ER, as well as surgery. Ken also was involved with consultant work for Long Term Care Facilities. In addition, he served as Department Head of the Medical Programs at the Bowling Green Junior College. He also served as clinical education coordinator and faculty facilitator for clerkships and/or special multi-disciplinary rotations (PT, PA, Rad Tech, Med Tech, Physician, Dental, and Cytotech) in the South Central Kentucky AHEC.
Currently, Mr. Whitley teaches Medical Terminology, Introduction to the Allied Health Professions, and Dental Hygiene Pharmacology. He also is the sole advisor for the BS in Health Sciences. Ken serves as PI for the Perkins Grant for the Department of Allied Health.
Ken currently lives in Bowling Green and is married to a lovely wife, Janie who is also a nurse. Ken and Janie have one child, Daniel. Daniel is a graduate of WKU and is employed at a civil engineering firm in Bowling Green. Golf is Mr. Whitley’s hobby. Mr. Whitley has served on many boards in Bowling Green such as the Barren River Ombudsman Long Term Care Program and Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Most of his spare time is spent in church related activities. He currently serves as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer of his church.
