Latin American Studies Calendar

Florenica Mallon will speak on her first novel, "Beyond The Ties of Blood: A Novel," about a family whose lives are shattered by the overthrow of Salvador Allende in 1973 and the ensuing dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Professor Mallon is Chair of the History Department at the University of Wisconsin, and has published extensively on all aspects of Chilean history; her novel is already drawing critical praise.
