Flute Choir

Directed By Heidi Álvarez

The Flute Choir is open to any Music major or minor. Flute students perform for recitals and conventions. One of the primary goals of this group is to build basic musicianship and camaraderie through sight reading and exploring a large variety of chamber literature.  Current flute students and WKU flute alumni are contributing to the musical world in many ways.

Any flute student interested in pursuing music at Western Kentucky University is encouraged to contact the flute instructor, Heidi Álvarez, to set up a campus visit and private lesson.  You will find that by touring the WKU campus, observing classes, meeting students and faculty, and having a lesson, you will get a more realistic view of what life is like as a Western Kentucky University music student. The flute studio upholds high standards of musicianship and is a friendly and welcoming unit of students.
