Safe Ride Service

The Safe Ride service, also known as the Purple Line, is a partnership between the Student Government Association and Parking and Transportation Services to provide students with alternative transportation to prevent the dangers of driving under the influence.  Fall 2012 was the first semester of its operation.

Days of Service:  Friday and Saturday during Fall and Spring Semesters; No Service during Intersession Service and Holidays.

Hours of Service:  10:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Service Frequency:  Continuous 15 minute frequency.

Service Area:  The Purple Line provides late evening shuttle service from the Bowling Green Campus to Downtown along State & College Streets and to off campus housing on Creason Drive and Campbell Lane.

Points of Interest:  Westin Apartments; Daymar Apartments; Campus Pointe; Campus Suites; The Gables; Kappa Delta House; North Chestnut Parking Lot; Overtime Bar & Grill; Tidball's; Downtown Bowling Green; The Valley; and Keen Hall.

 

Where is it?

Safe Ride shuttles are incorporated into the NextBus GPS tracking system.  Click here, and select "Late Evening" from the Route dropdown box.  You can also find the location of the shuttle through the iWKU app on your iPhone or Android smartphone.
