Bio
Michelle Gilstrap, a senior from Atlanta, GA, is a second-year Spirit Master majoring in Broadcasting-TV/Film Production with a minor in Sales. A student in the WKU Honors College, she is the recipient of the School of Journalism & Broadcasting Joseph A. Dear Memorial Scholarship and the Cascade United Methodist Church Scholarship. Representing WKU as a queen candidate at the 2012 Mt. Laurel Festival, she was elected Miss Congeniality among her peers. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Student Publications Committee, the Minority Communications, a diplomat for the School of Journalism & Broadcasting, and served as a judge for the 2011 WKU Homecoming Queen panel. Her honors include recognition on the Dean’s List and President’s List, Golden Key International Honor Society member, National Society for Collegiate Scholars member, Office of Diversity Programs Scholastic Achievement Award for High Academic Performance, and the Cascade UMC Legacy Award for Service.
