Teaching Interests
Catherine has attended a multitude of workshops and conferences to gain expertise with a wide variety of inquiry- based and science literacy teaching strategies. More recently she has also become a formative assessment advocate as one the main tools to be used to increase student mastery learning.
BIO
Catherine Rogier has been a Master Teacher for SKyTeach at WKU-Owensboro since the fall of 2012. Previously she taught Middle School science for 22 years at Daviess County Middle School. During this time, Catherine was also involved as the science department chair, 7th grade team leader, Science Club co-leader, and Site-Based council member. She is also a member of both the National Science Teachers Association and the Kentucky Science Teachers Association.
Catherine received a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from Purdue University, a Masters of Science degree in Fisheries Science from Virginia Tech, and Science Teaching Certification and Rank 1 in Education from Western Kentucky University.
Catherine's outside interests include gardening, playing the violin / fiddle in various bands, and bird-watching with her husband, Steve, around the United States and Latin America.
