Placing a Web Ad


Information for Placing Ads on WKU.edu Landing Pages, Homepage Spotlight, and Social Media

WKU Web Services is pleased to offer departments and groups across campus the ability to place ads on the Current Students, Faculty and Staff Landing Pages, on the WKU.edu Homepage Spotlight section, and via various channels on the WKU Social Media network.  If you are interested in placing an ad, please refer to the information below.

* NOTE - WKU does not place ads for third-party/external services or events anywhere on the WKU Website or Social Media.

Landing Page Ads

The Current Students, Faculty and Staff and Health & Wellness Landing Pages have space available for ads to be placed by WKU-based departments and student organizations (no external entities please).  These ads may be for upcoming campus events, deadlines, general program info, etc.  Ad space and length of placement is limited, and is therefore not guaranteed.  Each ad is taken on a first-come-first-served basis with priority offered (if available) to urgent campus news events or events that are date/deadline sensitive.


Specifications

Please provide the following via email to webservices@wku.edu:

1) Artwork: Dimensions 950 wide x 355 tall (pixels).  If you do not have an ad, our University Publications staff can create one for you for free.  Please submit your request online via the Project Request FormPlease note that University Publications requires at least 2-weeks notice to prepare all artwork.

2) Word .doc file that includes any text that is on the face of the artwork.  This is used to create an ADA compliant alt tag.

3) Requested run dates: Please provide your artwork at least two weeks before your requested run is to begin.

4) Corresponding website link.  We typically link the image ads to a corresponding website link, video, etc.  Please provide.  We recommend using bit.ly or another URL shortening / tracking service so that you may track how much exposure your ad receives.

Homepage Spotlight Ads

1) Artwork: Dimensions 250 wide x 315 tall (pixels).  NOTE: Because this is a very small space, we encourage you to keep any text to a minimum.  You should plan to include the Event Title, Date, Time, Location and Sponsor.  If you do not have an ad, our University Publications staff can create one for you for free.  Please submit your request online via the Project Request FormPlease note that University Publications requires at least 2-weeks notice to prepare all artwork.

Social Media Ad Placement

Where applicable, your Ad may be placed in some of the WKU sponsored pages including "Class of" Groups or Pages on Facebook, the WKU Instagram page, the @WKU, @WKU Class of pages on Twitter, and more.  We try to limit this activity to ads that refer to student services, deadlines or wide-reaching student events.  We typically do this automatically upon the placement of your ad.

Specifications:

Please provide the following via email to webservices@wku.edu:

1) Artwork: Dimensions 612 wide x 612 tall (pixels). NOTE: Because this is a very small space, we encourage you to keep any text to a minimum. You should plan to include the Event Title, Date, Time, Location and Sponsor. If you do not have an ad, our University Publications staff can create one for you for free. Please submit your request online via the Project Request Form. Please note that University Publications requires at least 2-weeks notice to prepare all artwork.
