Macy's Used Book Sale Feb. 8-10 to benefit SOKY Book Fest

The annual Macy's Used Book Sale to benefit the SOKY Book Fest and other literacy projects will be held Feb. 8-10 at Bowling Green's Historic L&N Depot.

The annual Macy’s Used Book Sale will be held Feb. 8-10 at Bowling Green’s Historic L&N Depot — home of the Historic Rail Park and Train Museum.

Thousands of materials will be available for sale at the event. Proceeds from the used book sale will benefit the Southern Kentucky Book Fest partnership and area literacy projects.

According to book sale organizers, donations are already coming in. “We are pleased to continue our partnership with Macy’s this year,” said Connie Foster, Dean for WKU Libraries. “We always look forward to the volume and variety of books that are available at the sale.”

Donations of books, videos, CDs, DVDs and audio books have been made at Macy’s, Warren County Public Library main branch, or WKU Libraries Java City and Cravens Fourth Floor Circulation Desk to support the cause.

The sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 8; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10. Volunteers are needed to unload books prior to the sale and to assist customers during the sale.

SOKY Book Fest is a partnership project of WKU Libraries, Warren County Public Library, and Barnes & Noble Booksellers. The partnership’s mission is to encourage reading and the love of books and to be a positive force in promoting literacy in the region and state.
