Mental Health First Aid Training
- Thursday, May 19th, 2022
Dear WKU Faculty and Staff,
Most of us would know how to help if we saw someone having a heart attack—we’d start CPR, or, at the very least, call 9-1-1. But too few of us would know how to respond if we saw someone having a panic attack or if we were concerned that a friend or co-worker might be showing signs of alcoholism. If you'd like to take part in a training that helps you develop an action plan to safely identify and address a potential mental illness or substance-use disorder, consider signing up for the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training. This course teaches faculty, staff, and administrators how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance-use disorders. When more people are equipped with the tools they need to start a dialogue, more people can get the help they need.
This training will take place on WKU's campus on Thursday, June 2, 9:00AM-4:00PM. Please register here to participate. Registration will close at noon on Wednesday, May 25.
