Institutional Equity Vision and Values
- Monday, March 20th, 2023
Dear Colleagues,
The office of Institutional Equity was established in January 2023 and is located in the Wetherby Administration Building (WAB) – third floor, Suite 317. The office of Institutional Equity is housed within Academic Affairs and encompasses the office of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/University ADA Services (EEO), which was previously located on the ground floor of WAB. The office of Institutional Equity consists of the following team members: Ena Demir (Executive Director and Title IX Coordinator); Joshua Hayes (EEO Director, Title IX Deputy/Investigator, and University ADA Coordinator); Cindy Smith (EEO Administrative Specialist, Budget Coordinator, and Title IX Assistant); and Chantel Wilson (EEO Coordinator, Research Assistant, Database/Website Associate, and Title IX Assistant). The office of Institutional Equity directly reports to Provost Bud Fischer.
The office of Institutional Equity is committed to preventing and addressing unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in WKU’s workplace and education environment (e.g., programs, activities). Institutional Equity envisions a University community in which every individual has an equal opportunity to learn, work, and contribute, and where full inclusion for all people fosters an environment free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Institutional Equity is committed to advancing WKU’s Strategic Plan of active inclusion by providing a range of services that uphold the values of equity and diversity, as well as support compliance efforts in areas such as, but not limited to, equal opportunity, accessibility, affirmative action, harassment prevention, non-discrimination, and Title IX.
All members of our WKU community are encouraged to partner with the Institutional Equity team to ensure an environment free of unlawful discrimination at all University-related activities, and in our WKU working and learning environments. Institutional Equity Vision and Values
