Dr. Gregory Arbuckle, associate professor of Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences at WKU, will be spending the spring semester on a faculty exchange program at Reutlingen University in Germany.
Reutlingen University, a longtime institutional partner of WKU, received 80 percent funding by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to host Dr. Arbuckle as a Visiting Professor for the Spring 2012 semester.
Dr. Arbuckle is leading a study abroad program at Reutlingen, titled Simulation Game: Virtual Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering ViSLER, and will be teaching courses in Industrial Engineering at WKU’s partner university during the spring semester.
He has been instrumental in expanding the existing partnership between WKU and Reutlingen. Dr. Arbuckle’s visit will be the first full-semester faculty exchange between the two institutions.
According to Dr. Arbuckle, one of the many goals of the two institutions is to have an international team of students compete in the 2012 RoboCup games in Mexico City on June 18-24.
