- South Central Area Health Education Center
- Friday, September 6th, 2019
More than 600 fourth-graders from Warren, Allen and Edmonson counties will participate in the 24th annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® program on Sept. 26 at WKU’s L.D. Brown Agricultural Exposition Center.
The field trip provides these fourth-grade students a fun and interactive educational experience about a variety of safety topics. The students will rotate through different sessions covering topics such as weather, water, fire, sun, tractor and roadway safety.
Educational sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a special electric safety demonstration sponsored by Warren RECC at lunchtime.
The event is sponsored by the Kentucky Partnership for Farm Family Health and Safety, Inc., in partnership with the South Central Area Health Education Center.
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® is recognized as the largest rural safety and health education program for children in North America, provides training and resources for local communities to conduct one-day safety and health programs that are age-appropriate, hands-on, fun, and safe for children. The Kentucky Partnership was one of the original organizations involved in the Progressive Agriculture Safety Days® program.
Over 100 volunteers from many community agencies plus students and faculty from WKU will donate their time and talents to ensure the success of this community-based educational event.
