40th Annual Mathematics Symposium Feb. 20

The 40th Annual Mathematics Symposium at Western Kentucky University will be held virtually from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 20).
Featured speakers/presentation titles are James Harrington of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Leveraging human adaptability to reskill and upskill our workforce; and Professor Stacey Smith? of University of Ottawa, Canada, Assessing potential COVID-19 outcomes for a university campus with and without physical distancing.
The symposium will include 28 presentations by undergraduate and graduate students and faculty on various fields of mathematics such as Control Theory of Partial Differential Equations, Mathematical Biology, Knot Theory, Computational Mathematics, Number Theory & Computer Science, Probability & Statistics and Math Education.
All presentations will be conducted via Zoom. Here is the full schedule.
