Agriculture Scholarships

Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) scholarships are available to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students.  The EEC, through the Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), sponsors this scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded to students in academic disciplines that are of critical need to the cabinet.  The number of scholarships awarded depends on the availability of funds.

Scholarships cover the cost of in-state tuition, room, board, books, and fees.  The amount of support is determined by the financial aid office at the respective university.  Students who accept the scholarship are obligated to employment with the EEC following graduation.

Five $1,500 Scholarships are available through the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association and are funded by the Kentucky Cattlemen's Foundation.

The Kentucky Poultry Federation is looking for graduating high school seniors (Spring 2023) or enrolled students who are attending a college, university, or technical training program to be recipients of the KPF Scholarships. These students must have good character and determination to succeed.

The Beef Industry Scholarship was introduced in 1989 through Live Cattle Futures Contract of the CME Group. The National Cattlemen’s Foundation and CME Group are committed to the future of the cattle industry and continue to recognize and support outstanding youth in the beef community. The tradition remains strong today, and each year, a total of ten $1,500.00 scholarships are awarded to students pursuing careers in the beef industry.

Fields of study may include: education, communications, production, research, or any other area involved with the beef industry. The purpose of this program is to identify and encourage talented and thoughtful students who will emerge as industry leaders.

In keeping with the mission to empower women in agriculture through education, involvement, and action, the Kentucky Women in Agriculture organization offers a scholarship for women who are full-time students entering their junior year in college through graduate school. Scholarship applicants must demonstrate the degree they are seeking relates to agriculture, demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled as a full-time student.

This scholarship was created to assist and serve as an encouragement and instill a love of horticulture. It is intended for students of horticulture and related areas of study so that they may continue their careers and be involved in promoting the nursery industry. Charlie's passion for horticulture, energetic spirit, and pure grit helped him grow his own nursery business. His expertise and guidance in several horticulture associations, including the KNLA, were instrumental in securing grant monies for education, research, and extension.

The Garden Club of Kentucky Scholarship exists to offer financial aid to outstanding Kentucky students and to encourage the study of horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, botany, plant science, city planning, forestry, and allied subjects.

The Race For Education provides opportunities for educational success for young people with significant financial need and academic challenges through academic development programs, tutoring, internships, financial literacy training, and scholarships.

The ultimate goal of The Race For Education is to ensure our young people become successful in life and assets to their community.

The Warren County Conservation District will award one $1,500 scholarship per high school in Warren County to qualifying high school seniors. This award will be administered through The College Heights Foundation. The scholarship will be allocated evenly over two semesters. Half will be administered at enrollment, and the remaining funds will be received at the beginning of the following semester with a documented minimum 2.5 GPA.

The Western Reserve Herb Society offers Plant Science scholarships.  These are open to students who have completed the second/sophomore year of undergraduate study and are pursuing a bachelor's degree. The applicants for these scholarships must be attending an accredited college or university and have achieved a grade point average of 3.2 or above.  

The Western Reserve Herb Society offers two National Scholarships for individual awards of $10,000. Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate exceptional dedication through outside experiences and whose career goals may involve work in areas such as the public or nonprofit sector, education, sustainability, and research.
