Dr. Gumirakiza is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics at Western Kentucky University, specializing in agribusiness, agricultural marketing, farm manangement, and entrepreneurial education. With a Ph.D. in Economics for Utah State University, his research has extensively focused on consumer behavior in local food systems, farm profitability, and innovative marketing strategies. His scholarship includes over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous professional presentations, and grant management exceeding $2 million in funding.
Dr. Gumirakiza has developed and taught courses on topics such as agribusiness entrepreneurship, agricultural marketing, and farm management, emphasizing practical and strategic applications. His collaboration initiatives with farmers, students and organizations highlight his commitment to bridging academic knowledge with real-world impact.
