Description:

What's happening?
A fundraiser for our PAH immersion weekend, that's what!

The PAH staff is putting together a kind of "field day" like you used to have as a kid. There will be various competitive style games setup throughout the day, such as basketball, volleyball, card games, corn hole, water balloon toss, scavenger hunt, trivia/quiz bowl, and so much more. Teams will have the chance to compete with each other, and at the end of the day, the top groups will be recognized and awarded.

When is it happening?
April 23, 2016 from 10am to 3:30pm at the Preston Miller Park in Bowling Green, KY. Registration/Check-In will start at 9am, though. So be sure to arrive a little earlier to check-in your team.

Will I have to sign the whole day?
For the most part, the day is voice-on. We wanted to make this something anyone could attend and participate in. We do ask, however, that you be courteous to any Deaf in attendance, and sign when they are around. If you cannot sign, there should be people that can help facilitate communication. Also, during lunch, we will have a voice-off section, specifically for those wanting to DCE credit, or for those just wanting to use ASL.

So how do I get involved?
First, you'll need some teammates to help you compete in the various activities throughout the day, the more the merrier. We will allow groups of up to 5 members; you'll even get a discounted rate if you have a full team of 5.

If for some reason you can't find anyone to be on a team with you, that's okay too. We can pair you with others when you arrive. By the end of the day, they'll be your new best friends!

Second, you will need to complete a registration form, here, and submit it and any fees to the ASL Lab or ASLS office by Wednesday, April 20, 2016.

How much will it cost?
Not too much, only $5 per person. Or, if you have a full group of five, $4 per person - a $5 total discount; bring 4 people, get the 5th free!

Okay, I've registered and paid, where is this thing?

What will the day look like?
Currently, registration/check-in will begin at 9am. At 10am games and competition will commence. Around 12pm, we will break for lunch; there will be a sign-only, voice-off section, and a "community corner" for those that don't know sign, but are still interested in ASL. At 1:30pm, we will continue the frivolity, ending around 3:30pm with the recognition of teams and awards. If you'd like to hang around longer, ASLO will be starting their annual picnic event at 4pm, where there will be more food and signing (that event is voice-off).

I heard I can get DCE credit?
Yes, however, you must register for and attend, at least, the morning games and stay through lunch, sitting in the voice-off, ASL section.
