Hello everyone! I teach ASL and am the Coordinator for the ASL Studies program. I grew up in rural West Tennessee on a farm. We raised goats, cows, horses, chickens, and pigs and had plenty of dogs and cats. My mom gave me a book when I was 5 or 6 years old with the ABC’s in ASL. I thought it was soooo cool. Long story short, my first year teaching University Experience at WKU I had a Deaf student in class. He wanted tutoring in English and I wanted to learn ASL. And the rest is history. I love ASL, the Deaf community and teaching on a college campus. I work by the “open door” philosophy, meaning, students are welcome anytime I am here (Academic Complex 115C). Please feel free to contact me any time either face-to-face, email, phone or VP.
