WKU will celebrate student research March 19-24 during REACH (Research Experiences and Creative Heights) Week.

The week includes lectures by two prominent scientists, research showcases hosted by WKU’s academic colleges and the 42^nd annual Student Research Conference. (The complete schedule is online at http://www.wku.edu/research/celebrate.php)

Highlights of REACH Week include the following:

Keynote speaker March 21: Dr. Brian Fagan, internationally prominent archaeologist/anthropologist, New York Times bestselling author and Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at the University of California at Santa Barbara, will discuss “How Climate Change Changed Civilization” at 7 p.m. at Van Meter Hall. A reception will begin at 6 p.m.

Student Research Conference March 24: More than 270 undergraduate and graduate students will present their research and creative endeavors through talks, posters, performances and more at the 42^nd annual conference at Gary A. Ransdell Hall. The conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. with an awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

Conference speaker March 24: Dr. William Tad Pfeffer, professor of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, a Distinguished Lecturer for Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society and a renowned scientist who publishes regularly in the journal “Science,” will discuss “Future Sea Level: Where do we go from here?” at 4:30 p.m. at Gary A. Ransdell Hall Auditorium.
