WKU will celebrate student research during REACH Week March 19-24

WKU will celebrate student research March 19-24 during REACH (Research Experiences and Creative Heights) Week.
The week includes lectures by two prominent scientists, research showcases hosted by WKU’s academic colleges and the 42nd annual Student Research Conference. (The complete schedule is online at http://www.wku.edu/research/celebrate.php)
Highlights of REACH Week include the following:
Keynote speaker March 21: Dr. Brian Fagan, internationally prominent archaeologist/anthropologist, New York Times bestselling author and Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at the University of California at Santa Barbara, will discuss “How Climate Change Changed Civilization” at 7 p.m. at Van Meter Hall. A reception will begin at 6 p.m.
Student Research Conference March 24: More than 270 undergraduate and graduate students will present their research and creative endeavors through talks, posters, performances and more at the 42nd annual conference at Gary A. Ransdell Hall. The conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. with an awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
Conference speaker March 24: Dr. William Tad Pfeffer, professor of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado, a Distinguished Lecturer for Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society and a renowned scientist who publishes regularly in the journal “Science,” will discuss “Future Sea Level: Where do we go from here?” at 4:30 p.m. at Gary A. Ransdell Hall Auditorium.
