- Monday, September 8th, 2014
WKU’s Department of Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences is partnering with Glasgow High School’s Academy of Engineering to provide new opportunities for students.
Glasgow High School participates in Project Lead the Way, the nation’s leading provider of K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.
Glasgow High School and WKU will celebrate the partnership at 4 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 9) at the high school’s atrium.
“We are very excited about this opportunity for our students and appreciate the support WKU has shown in enhancing our vision for the PLTW program,” said Lorie Bunch, guidance counselor at Glasgow High School.
Glasgow students who complete four courses in the academy’s pre-engineering curriculum would be awarded 12 credit hours in WKU’s Advanced Manufacturing program.
“We are pleased to partner with Glasgow High School and Project Lead the Way on a program that will provide educational opportunities for students and will help meet the needs of industry in the region,” said Dr. Greg Arbuckle, chair of WKU’s Department of Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences.
