WKU’s 34th annual Mathematics Symposium Oct. 10-11

WKU’s 34th annual Mathematics Symposium will be held Oct. 10-11 at Snell Hall.
Keynote speakers are Dr. Robert L. Devaney of Boston University who will discuss The Fractal Geometry of the Mandelbrot Set and Dr. Louis H. Kauffman of University of Illinois at Chicago who will discuss Knots and Physics.
The symposium, featuring presentations on mathematics and mathematics-related topics, will begin at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and 8 a.m. Oct. 11. Admission is free and open to faculty, staff, students and the community.
Funding for the 2014 Mathematics Symposium is provided by a National Science Foundation grant, Ogden College of Science and Engineering, Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky and the WKU Department of Mathematics.
