Dear Colleagues,
I hope you enjoyed some time away from campus last week as WKU closed for three days of Spring Break. We continue our efforts to enhance work/life harmony for each member of our WKU Family. These additional days of paid time off create opportunities for prioritizing individual and family well-being. Paid time off, as well as the upcoming reduced-hour summer schedule, remain essential components of our overall compensation package.
As our students return from their break, it’s important that we reignite our efforts to support them as they finish the spring term. We know that many will struggle between now and the end of the semester. Please reinforce for them their capacity to succeed, to overcome and to persist with seven weeks to go. If they are dealing with non-academic issues, we must connect them with the tools and resources they need.
Our Hilltopper Family has accomplished much inside and outside of the classroom this academic year – growing the applied research and learning opportunities available to our students; celebrating historic fall-to-spring retention achievements; and strengthening partnerships designed to elevate not only our institution, but also our community. As we look toward commencement, we will celebrate in the coming weeks some remarkable individuals and efforts from across our institution.
Thank you for working together to create and maintain an environment where every student feels valued, supported and empowered to continue or complete their climb at WKU.
Go Tops!
Best,
Timothy C. Caboni
