Dear Colleagues,
As we begin a new semester, I want to thank all those who continued their work on campus during the winter break – ensuring uninterrupted campus operations, supporting our students who took courses during the Winter Term and preparing for the spring semester. Now, as our students settle into their schedules and adjust to a new term, we will once again do all that we can to provide each of them with the personalized support that best exemplifies the WKU Spirit. We have a new opportunity to inspire and empower the next generation of Hilltoppers, and I am excited for all that we will accomplish together in the months ahead.
Applied learning and student research opportunities continue to differentiate the WKU Experience. As your students look for ways to build their skills and become involved in research at WKU, I ask that you inform them about the upcoming WKU Student Scholar Showcase on Saturday, April 5, in the Downing Student Union. Every year, this Showcase provides our campus community with an important opportunity to celebrate the research activities of graduate and undergraduate students from disciplines across our university. To that end, please encourage your students to submit an abstract online between now and Friday, February 28. WKU provides resources on how to submit an abstract and instructions on what is needed to participate at https://www.wku.edu/showcase/workshops.php. Finally, we invite all faculty and staff to attend and even volunteer to serve as a Showcase session chair. Please visit the WKU Student Scholar Showcase website for more information.
