Fellow Faculty and Staff:
As we kick off Homecoming activities, we will witness this week the extraordinary sense of pride in WKU. Throughout the year, we observe our rich history and take part in our distinct traditions, but homecoming week is special. It provides each of us an opportunity to see the transformative effect we have on individual lives across multiple generations. I hope you will pause to celebrate who we are as a community of faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, and friends.
We have no greater illustration of our core mission than our successful alumni. The shortest period of engagement for most Hilltoppers is when they study with us. What happens post-graduation provides the longest span of connection with WKU.
Our students leave our Hill and do great things, and we cheer them on from afar. During Homecoming, we get to celebrate those accomplishments together as a WKU family. We reengage intellectually; we visit with old classmates and friends; we honor the remarkable contributions our graduates have made in this world; and we thank our volunteers who help advance our University and our mission through their gift of time.
The lifelong bonds that come from the Hilltopper experience are strong, and this week we gather together to refresh and rekindle those bonds, reminiscence about old times, and recall laughs from years past. It’s all about coming home and celebrating our past, present, and future.
I hope you will find time to participate in this week’s festivities listed here: www.alumni.wku.edu/homecoming. I look forward to celebrating with you. GO TOPS!
Best,
Timothy C. Caboni
