For gifted students who have completed sixth, seventh, or eighth grade, SCATS, The Summer Camp for Academically Talented Middle School Students, presents a unique learning environment to explore new ideas, develop concepts, make friends, and share experiences. From on-line to on-air and so much more.  The annual High School Media workshops offer four days of training in either photojournalism, broadcasting, or film covering every facet of the independent cinema process. Designed to challenge and motivate students these annual workshops are sponsored by the Kentucky High School Media Institute and the School of Journalism & Broadcasting.

Ray Harper Basketball Camps at Western Kentucky University offer an opportunity for players to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of basketball. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful players. Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner's attention, which results in attentive practice.

Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the Hilltopper coaches.

 If your child loves to write, this is the perfect summer camp! We will focus on writing to make a difference during this 3-day event, and the campers will present their work on the last day of the camp. Everything your child will need, including meals and snacks, will be provided. All camp counselors are cerfied teachers.

ATP is an orientation program required for all freshman and transfer students planning to register for classes on the Main or South Campus. ATP helps you become more familiar with Western Kentucky University and provides an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor from your chosen major in a small group setting. You will also register for classes and receive a copy of your class schedule.

This camp is designed to prepare high school and club teams and individual players for the upcoming season. HSA staff coaches will work personally with each coach to implement tactics that highlight team strengths.

Additional activities may include strength & conditioning, injury prevention, soccer nutrition, college recruiting discussion, pick-up games and panels about college life. HSA will provide room & board, free of charge, for a coach or manager from each team.
