CEBS Faculty Member Awarded Grant for Undergraduate Research

Dr. Jessie Torelli, an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the School of Teacher Education was recently awarded a grant from the KY IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence.
The Investigator Development Award (IDeA) is a two-year grant that provides support to promising junior investigators at Kentucky colleges and university that is competitive for National Institute of Health (NIH) funding. The project will fund a pilot project to improve intervention for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and persistent challenging behavior in rural schools. The research team will be primarily comprised of undergraduate students at WKU. Data from this preliminary study will be used to inform a proposal for the NIH Research Enhancement Award (also known as R15), which would provide additional funds and support for this study.
