This year’s WKU vs. MTSU Blood Battle Blood Drive will be held September 26-28 at Preston Health and Activities Center.
The blood drive is an annual event revolving around the football game between the Hilltoppers and the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders, taking place this year in Murfreesboro on October 15.
Campus and community members can schedule appointments to donate in favor of WKU by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by clicking HERE; walk-ins are also welcome. Donation times will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on all three days at the Preston Health and Activities Center.
Free reserved parking is available in Parking Structure 2. All donors will receive a Tops Blood Battle T-shirt while supplies last. Volunteers are needed for this event; those interested can sign up HERE.
The Blood Battle winner will be announced at the October 15 football game. The American Red Cross will present the trophy to the winning school at the game.
All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card, driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
