Future Educators for Inclusion Second Cohort Starting at WKU
- Tuesday, February 20th, 2024
Future Educators for Inclusion (FEFI) is an online exchange program designed for college students in teacher training programs in the US and Morocco. It aims to address global disability inclusion challenges by empowering future educators. Participants engage in activities exploring educational hurdles for individuals with disabilities globally, learn from international experts on effective inclusion strategies, and implement local inclusion projects. FEFI is led by Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, in collaboration with partners from Western Kentucky University, University of Mississippi, and Moroccan higher education institutions. This initiative is part of the Stevens Initiative, established in 2015 to promote virtual exchanges and provide young people with transformative global experiences.
Dr. Christina Noel, Associate Professor in the School of Teacher Education, is the Program Coordinator and Facilitator for WKU and oversees 25 students within the program. During the first cohort in fall 2023, the students presented on The HIVE and the Big Red School.
