WKU Study Abroad & Global Learning awarded 347 students WorldTopper Scholarships in the last academic year.
All WKU students attending any type of credit-bearing study abroad program are eligible to apply for the WorldTopper. Awards are funded by WKU and range from $100 to $1,000. Financial need and program length play important roles in determining the award amount. (Pictured are 39 of those recipients; many of whom are currently abroad. Photo by Bryson Keltner.)
SAGL also awarded 24 students EDGE (Enhancing Diversity in Global Education) Grants in the last year. EDGE Grants are typically higher amounts than the WorldTopper and are meant to make programs more accessible for students who are underrepresented in study abroad. Students eligible to apply for an EDGE Grant identify as at least one of the following:
- Ethnic minority
- First-generation college student
- Non-traditional student
- From Appalachia
- Having a registered disability
- LGBTQIA+
Following their program, EDGE recipients complete a service project to promote study abroad opportunities to underrepresented students in the WKU community.
SAGL wishes to congratulate all of its scholarship recipients.
