Making every moment of his WKU experience count, Liam Wilson, a junior from Bowling Green who studies Business Economics and Strategic Marketing has been gaining real-world experience by working in the WKU Office of Admissions giving campus tours and helping with recruitment events as an Admissions Ambassador. He also serves as a co-leader of the TOP Guide Organization, a group of students that assist with the Topper Orientation Program.
That's not all Wilson is doing to gain experience in his field. He recently returned from a six-month internship with the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
During the internship, Wilson worked in guest operations at Disney All-Star Resorts. He said the knowledge he obtained as an intern has helped him sharpen his customer service and public speaking skills, which he will utilize in his roles with the Office of Admissions and in his future career.
“One of the biggest things that Disney focuses on is the ‘Disney Magic.’ Basically, that means going out of your way to make someone’s day,” said Wilson. “Learning what I have from the Disney College Program and applying that same concept of making someone’s day has made me a better tour guide and student recruiter.”
