WKU’s Forensics Team hosted a virtual Coaches’ Institute this Monday and Tuesday. Nearly 50 high school coaches representing high schools from 17 states registered for the institute to learn from the WKU Forensics team’s national championship coaching staff.
The participants tuned in for lessons ranging from Cultivating a Championship Team Culture to helping student write and deliver public address events.
“It’s been at least a decade since the last time we hosted a forensics institute exclusively for coaches,” Director of Forensics Ganer Newman said.
Newman noted that over half of the coaches in attendance had more than five years of coaching experience. “It was fantastic getting to work with both new coaches and seasoned veterans of the activity,” Newman said. “The positive turnout is a testament to the amazing work of our awesome coaching staff. I am excited to see the new recruitment opportunities this institute will generate for WKU!”
