Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed Jan Michele West and Wilton Currie Milliken to the WKU Board of Regents.
West, of Louisville, replaces J. David Porter of Lexington and will serve through June 30, 2026. Milliken, of Bowling Green, replaces Sheldon McKinney of Wallingford and will serve through June 30, 2025.
West, a WKU alumna, is an attorney with Goldberg Simpson LLC in Prospect. She is a member of the Louisville Bar Association and on the boards of directors at Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Louisville Zoo Foundation and ClearPath Mutual.
“I attended WKU and have a great interest in the continued success of the university,” she said. “I received an excellent education which formed the foundation for my interest in and ability to attend law school and my subsequent 30-year legal career. I would be honored to continue my involvement with WKU by serving on the Board of Regents.”
Milliken is also a WKU alumnus and an attorney. He is a board member at HOTEL INC, and a member of the WKU Alumni Association, Hilltopper Athletic Foundation and Broadway United Methodist Church.
“I have significant ties with WKU,” Milliken said. “My mother attended Western Kentucky State Teachers College many years ago, each of my siblings has attended Western and my wife and I are both graduates of WKU. I feel I would make a significant contribution to the continued success of this fine institution of higher learning.”
The board will next meet Oct. 23 for committees.
