WKU Homecoming 2021 set for Oct. 30
- WKU Alumni Association
- Thursday, May 20th, 2021
The WKU Alumni Association, in partnership with the Department of Student Activities and WKU Athletics, announces that the tradition of WKU Homecoming will be celebrated throughout the week concluding on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. The Homecoming game will be against Charlotte, and kickoff time will be announced at a later date.
Homecoming at WKU is a celebrated tradition for Hilltoppers of all ages. Last year, Homecoming was primarily celebrated virtually due to public health restrictions. However, an expansion of virtual Homecoming activities allowed Hilltoppers from around the world who otherwise would have been unable to return to campus to celebrate their WKU Spirit.
With the recent announcement lifting capacity restrictions beginning in June and other updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, WKU will invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, parents, friends and fans to join this year’s Homecoming celebration on the Hill or virtually from around the world. Participants will be reminded to follow the recommended practices in public health, and all events or gatherings will follow any updated guidance from the CDC or the state.
“We are excited to welcome everyone home to the Hill once again for Homecoming,” stated Anthony McAdoo, Executive Director of the WKU Alumni Association. “We look forward to the return of many great Homecoming traditions as well introducing new ways for our WKU Family to celebrate at home or on the Hill leveraging what we learned during last year’s virtual activities.”
“The excitement for Homecoming 2021 is already building,” said Charley Pride, Director of Student Activities, Organizations & Leadership. “Plans are happening, and our students are looking forward to our alumni coming back to the Hill.”
