Meet Autumn Reinert and Kate Nash, marketing students at WKU and promotions interns with the Bowling Green Hot Rods this summer.
“In my summer internship, I work with the Marketing and Promotions Assistant and Director of Creative Services as a Promotions Intern. My main duties are assisting with brainstorming ideas for social media, promotions, and in game activities, and executing all on and off field promotions," said WKU senior and Hot Rods Promotions Intern Autumn Reinert.
"I have worked alongside local businesses in Bowling Green by organizing donations, raffle items, community related events, and scheduling in-game promotional entertainment throughout the season,” Reinert shared. “I have enhanced my verbal and written communication skills, along with strategic planning associated with promotions that will help me in my future career.”

“I work with our marketing and promotions department to create an effective presence for our fan base. This has consisted of promotional planning for events such as sponsorships, in-game activities and social media campaigns. We build relationships with outside businesses and organizations to help diversify our events and reach all target audiences. We also get to do some fun things, such as dancing on the dugout, throwing out t-shirts and interacting with the fans every game on a personal level,” said WKU junior and Hot Rods Promotions Intern Kate Nash.
“I have learned that having the ability to adapt is key. Baseball is ever-changing especially with the cloud of COVID hanging over our heads. We have to deal with protocol changes, weather and fan discrepancies every week, and being prepared for every potential outcome is very important to us. This internship will help me greatly leading into the next steps of my professional career for two main reasons: experience and networking. I have learned a great amount about the inner workings of minor league baseball, and I have established relationships with people who genuinely care about my next steps and are more than happy to assist me in getting there.”
