Biography

Mary Lloyd was born and grew up in Danville Kentucky.  She graduated with a degree in English from Centre College, there in Danville, in 1975.  She married her husband, Hamp Moore, from Bowling Green, in 1979 and they moved to Bowing Green where they have lived ever since. They have three children, Katherine, Hampton, and John. 

 

In 1985 she earned a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Counseling at Western Kentucky University.   In 1992 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from Western.  She is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership and plans to complete it in May, 2013.

 

She has provided speech-language therapy with young children for more than 20 years and has been the Communication Disorders Clinic Director at WKU since 1996.  Her clinical interests include autism spectrum disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, and assessment.

 

She currently teaches Phonetics (CD 405) in the Fall and Diagnostics (CD 485) in the Spring.  She is responsible for the weekly clinic meetings and supervises undergraduate and graduate students in the WKU Communication Disorders Clinic.
