Bethany Johnson serves as the Clinical Director of the Talley Family Counseling Center at WKU, where she leads a dedicated team of counseling student interns in providing essential mental health services. A proud alumna of WKU's Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling program (2016), Bethany holds a license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (KY) and is a board-approved supervisor (LPCC-S). Her professional journey spans private practice, community mental health, and educational settings.

In 2024, Bethany assumed the role of Clinical Director at TFCC, advancing its mission to extend accessible mental health care across the WKU service region. The TFCC prioritizes onsite clinical services, striving to eliminate barriers of cost and access. Bethany is dedicated to nurturing a team of highly qualified mental health counselors trained in diverse therapeutic approaches, including Expressive Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adlerian Therapy.

TFCC interns benefit from training seminars in risk/crisis intervention, trauma therapy, couples counseling, holistic approaches, and specialized populations. They gain hands-on experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including traditional talk therapy, play therapy, and biofeedback (Heart Rate Variability training), ensuring holistic care for clients.

Bethany's leadership at TFCC exemplifies her passion for empowering both clients and interns alike, fostering a nurturing environment where mental health services thrive. In her downtime, Bethany loves reading fantasy novels, enjoying quality time with her twin sons, and traveling the world.
