Sadie Sand Spotlight
- Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020
Sadie Sand (MHC '23) found out about the Office of Scholar Development (OSD) at H4 but had forgotten about it in the midst of her transition to full-time student at WKU. During winter break, Dr. Grimsley in OSD office reached out to her via email and said that she should check out Fulbright Summer Institutes and, if she was interested, to set up an appointment with her.
Sadie ended up reaching out to OSD after that email and they helped her revise her Fulbright application. While she met with Dr. Grimsley, they discussed her professional goals and began targeting other nationally competitive scholarships.
Sadie described her experience to us, "I would absolutely recommend OSD. Everyone working in the office is super friendly, helpful, and efficient. You can tell they really want to help develop students into better scholars as well as better citizens. Every student should make at least one appointment with OSD while at WKU; they’ll help you reach your potential. They really made me feel like I was a strong applicant and like I could really do it even though I was unsure from the start.” Keep up the good work, Sadie! We can't wait to see where your Big Dreams take you.
