This month’s WKU Innovation Campus member spotlight is on The DeCesare Group – a dedicated family devoted to meshing their individual strengths to customize public relations/consulting support for their clients. Each member is integral to the overall success of the business. Jim and Amy DeCesare’s, daughter Brooke Mattingly, and son Justin DeCesare know their roles and do them well. Jim and Brooke serve as partners as Brooke manages PR, social media, digital marketing, and all things creative, while Jim consults businesses on finances and overall market strategies. As the family tech wizard, Justin works with website creation/management, and Amy handles media relations and commercial voice overs. The multi-faceted talent of The DeCesare Group is a dream team for customizing business needs.
The vision for the DeCesare Group was Jim’s brainchild during Covid. He recalled sitting at a local restaurant having coffee with Brooke, and the idea popped into his head. He scribbled it on a napkin, slid it over to Brooke, and The DeCesare Group was born. Of course, Jim has had a history of being the “idea guy” with his successful political career and various recognitions for his contributions to Kentucky economic development from the KAED, including an admission to its Hall of Fame. His successful background in economic development made him the perfect person to author a newsletter about our region’s economic status. Once the newsletter was established, a companion podcast soon followed with Jim hosting and Justin producing in the family home. The podcast has evolved into Jim’s “passion project” since it allows him to use all his skills in one setting–analysis of key issues involving economic growth and trends in his discussions with area business leaders.
The inaugural guest on the podcast was former Warren County Judge Executive Mike Buchanan, and over 60 episodes later, has included a smorgasbord of state and local leaders such as former mayor Johnny Webb, Dr. Evelyn Thrasher, Dean of WKU's Gordon Ford College of Business, and Senator Rand Paul. The podcast is a fun, informative, easy listen packed with local voices who truly love Bowling Green. In fact, a podcast discussion with our own Buddy Steen and Sam Ford from the Innovation Campus, was a catalyst for the DeCesare Group to locate in the Collaborative Smart Space. The Smart Space offers so much to local businesses and the DeCesare Group is enjoying the different options available to members.
Born as a Covid baby and nourished by a family who truly enjoy working together to help Bowling Green and surrounding area businesses, the DeCesare Group is a great choice for any of your Public Relation’s needs—from websites, marketing, and consulting, this firm is here to help. The DeCesare Group prides itself on being a tailored and responsive business - so if you have a need, contact information is located below, and be sure to give their podcast a listen or watch it on YouTube.
