Ms. Cindy Smith began working at Western Kentucky University (WKU), in the office of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/University ADA Services, now the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), in August 2007. In December 2019, Ms. Smith earned her Associate in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from WKU with two emphases: Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Organization and Communication of Ideas. Ms. Smith completed her Undergraduate Organizational Leadership Certificate in spring 2021. Ms. Smith is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree focused on Social and Behavioral Sciences at WKU. In her role, she reviews all applicant summaries and communicates with departments regarding equitable hiring decisions. This also includes facilitation and communication to ensure OIE's compliance with OFCCP in relation to annual affirmative action plans. Ms. Smith also manages all of OIE's administrative needs, budget, and assists with all areas of OIE such as investigations and ADA tasks.
