How can I access and install / use the MATLAB software on my computer?
Environment

Resolution
- Go to the Western Kentucky University MATLAB portal to download the software.
- Click Sign in to get started under the MATLAB section.
- You will be given an option to create a MathWorks account. Complete this form as requested, using your WKU email address only, in order to gain MATLAB access. Once this has been completed you will be able to install and activate the MATLAB software on your personal computer or use MATLAB Online from a supported web browser.

How do I install Read&Write?
Resolution
- Go here.
- Click Try Read&Write today.
- Select your platform / Operating System.
- Click Install.
- Download the installer.
- Open the installer and complete the steps to install the program.
- Open Read&Write.
- When prompted, select to Sign in with Microsoft.
- Enter your student email address and password.
- This will activate the software so you can begin using it.

To request Adobe Creative Cloud purchase:
- For individual faculty/staff, please contact the ITS Service Desk or submit a service request.
- For a classroom, please submit this service request.
- For a computer lab, please submit this service request.
Note: WKU does not offer a student discount program for Adobe Creative Cloud. Any student discounts provided by Adobe can be accessed by creating a new Adobe account using your TopperMail email address and purchasing Adobe Creative Cloud directly from Adobe. You may be informed that you already have a 'Company or School Account'. You will still need to create a new Adobe 'Personal Account'. After creating an account and purchasing any Adobe subscription, you can access your account by logging in and choosing 'Personal Account' instead of 'Company or School Account'.

As a faculty/staff member, how do I install Mathematica on my WKU-owned device?
Resolution
- Go here.
- If you have a Wolfram ID already, skip to step 6.
- Click Create one on the login page.
- Fill out the required form, using your WKU email address in the email field.
- Once your account is created, follow the email verification link that is sent to your WKU email.
- Log in with your Wolfram ID.
Note: If you do not see the Wolfram Activation Key Request Form now, try clicking the link in step 1 again. - Enter the information required in the form. If your department is not listed, select Other.
- In the Notes/Machine name field, please input the Inventory Control Number (ICN #) of your device.
- Hit Submit.
- Your activation key has been created. Consider printing the page for your own records.
- Click Product Summary page.
- Scroll down to Downloads and select your preferred operating system download link. We recommended using the download manager option, as the file is quite large.
- Once your download is complete, follow the prompts to install Mathematica.

As a WKU student, how do I install Mathematica on my personal computer?

- Go here.

Resolution
WKU Faculty, Staff, and Students can download and install Microsoft 365 Pro Plus free of charge and may install the software on up to five devices/computers. Microsoft 365 is provided through WKU's enterprise licensing agreement with Microsoft. Based on Microsoft’s licensing requirements, it is not offered to past students who have graduated or leave WKU. Microsoft 365 Pro Plus offers you the most recent version of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Microsoft 365 Pro Plus includes the following list of applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, and Publisher.
- Tap Play Store.
- Tap Search bar.
- Search Microsoft 365.
- Tap Install for Microsoft 365 (Office).
- Tap Open.
- If prompted about Privacy or Terms of Use, tap through prompts.
- Tap Sign in with email or phone.
- Fill in WKU email address.
- Tap Next.
- If prompted, tap Work or School account.
- Fill in your NetID password.
- Complete Microsoft MFA, if prompted.
- To access Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, tap Create.
- Tap app of your choice beneath Start creating with.
- To access other 365 applications, tap Apps.
iPad Instructions
- Tap App Store.
- Tap Search.
- Type in Search field for Microsoft 365.
- Tap Get for Microsoft 365 (Office).
- Tap Install.
- If prompted, type in Apple ID password and tap OK.
- Tap Open.
- Tap Existing Microsoft 365 Users? Sign In.
- Tap text box and type in WKU email address.
- Tap Next.
- Type Password.
- Tap Sign In.
- Tap Continue.
- Approve Multi-factor Authentication, if prompted.
- Tap Turn On or Not Now for Notifications.
- Tap Create and Edit Documents.
iPhone Instructions
- Tap App Store.

- Tap Sign In.

- Navigate to Office.

- If prompted, complete Microsoft multi-factor authentication.
- Microsoft 365 applications will appear on left pane. Click an application's icon to open web version.
- Navigate to Office.
- Click Sign in.
- Fill in WKU email address and NetID password.
- If prompted, complete Microsoft multi-factor authentication.
- Click Install and more.
- Select Install Microsoft 365 apps.
- Click Install Office.
- A file named Microsoft_356_and_Office[...].pkg will download.
- Open file and follow prompts to install.
- Navigate to Office.
- Click Sign in.
- Fill in WKU email address and NetID password.
- If prompted, complete Microsoft multi-factor authentication.
- Click Install and more.
- Select Install Microsoft 365 apps.
- Click Install Office.
- A file named OfficeSetup.exe will download.
- Open file and follow prompts to install.

How do I install Office on my WKU-Owned Mac?

Resolution
- Open the Self-Service app from your Applications folder.
- Click Your Apps.
- Click Install for the apps desired:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Word
- OneDrive
- The apps will download and install automatically.
- When the progress bar for the app(s) completes, navigate to your Applications folder.
- Open one of the installed apps.
- You will be prompted to activate the app. Enter your WKU EMail address.
- Enter your NetID password.
- You will be prompted to verify activation through Microsoft MFA.
- Once verified, the app and all other installed Office apps will be activated.

How do I install SAS?
Environment

- Click SharePoint link. If prompted, log in using your WKU-issued email (Exchange or TopperMail) and password with multi-factor authentication
- Click the SAS file.
- Click Download and choose a location you can find easily.
Note: This is a very large file and may take a while if you are on a slower connection. - Extract the downloaded file by double-clicking; however, if you get an error when you double-click you may need a program to extract all the files from this download, such as 7-Zip, which is a free software. If you do not have 7-Zip, please download and install this software before continuing.
Note: This will take some time to complete as SAS is a very large program. - Extract this file to a location you can easily find.
- Once extracted, open the folder containing the file and double click the setup.exe file to run it.
- You should see the Choose Language window; select your preferred language.
- Click OK.
- By default Install SAS software is selected; click Next.
- Leave the default location to install SAS Home as C:\Program files\SASHome.
- Click Next.
- Make sure Perform a Planned Deployment is selected and Install SAS Software is checked.
- Uncheck Configure SAS Software.
- Click Next.
- Click Select a standard deployment plan and choose Education Analytical Suite - Two Machine.
- Click Next.
- Choose Server and Middle Tier for products you want to install on this machine.
- Click Next.
- Click default 64-bit Native Mode.
- Click Next.
- The SAS installation data file should already be configured with a predetermined Expiration Date.
- Click Next.
- Choose to Select All Languages or Clear All to only select English.
- Click Next.
- Click Next to leave default Regional Settings.
- Click Next to leave default Host Name and Port Number.
- Click Next to leave default Port number and security preferences.
- Allow time for SAS to check system requirements.
- Click Next.
- Click Start to begin the installation process.
Note: It may take 30 to 90 minutes to complete this process. - Click Next.
- Click Finish.
Note: It is advised after the installation and verifying the software runs that you delete the downloaded installer file to free up your disk space.

How do I install SPSS Version 29 for Mac?

- Request purchasing information via our online request.
- Request to install software via our online request to receive an activation code.
- Click SharePoint link. If prompted, log in using your WKU-issued email (Exchange or TopperMail) and password with multi-factor authentication.
- Click the .PKG file for macOS.
- Click Download.
- On WKU-owned Macs, click the Privileges app in your dock to give your account temporary admin rights and allow software installations.
Note: If you do not have the Privileges app in your dock, your computer may have an older image. Skip to the next step. - Go to the download location and double click the file you downloaded.
- Click Continue.
- Click Continue on the Software License Agreement.
- Click Agree on the terms of the Software License Agreement.
- Click Install (it may prompt for your computer password).
- It should complete the installation.
- You'll find the application launch icon for SPSS in /Applications/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/29/SPSSStatistics.
- When SPSS opens, click the License Product button on Activate IBM SPSS Statistics window.
- Click Next.
- Click the Authorized user license radio button.
- Click Next.
- Enter the Authorization Code from step 1.
- Click Add.
- Click Next.
- It should go through the Authorization process and display Authorization Succeeded when completed.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.

- Request to install software via our online request. Once you submit the request, you will receive instructions for installing SPSS on your device.
- Request to install software via our online request to receive an activation code.
- Once you receive your activation code, click SharePoint link. If prompted, log in using your WKU-issued email (Exchange or TopperMail) and password with multi-factor authentication.
- Click the .EXE file for Windows.
- Click Download.
- Go to the download location and double click the file you downloaded..
- Click Next.
- Click on the I accept the terms of the license agreement radio button and then click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish.
- Click Launch License Wizard on Activate IBM SPSS Statistics window.
- Click Next.
- Select Authorized User License.
- Enter the Authorization Code from step 1.
- Click Next.
- Click Add.
- Click Next.
- It should go through the Authorization process and display Authorization Succeeded when completed.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
