High School journalists from Kentucky and Tennessee were recognized through the 42^nd annual WKU High School Media Awards, a competition sponsored by the WKU School of Media and WKU Student Publications.

The awards honor work produced by high school newspapers, magazines, yearbooks and broadcast outlets. More than 220 entries were received from 32 high school media outlets at 25 schools.

Awards were presented during an on-campus ceremony Friday, March 25. The ceremony also included a keynote speech from Brian Elliott, an assistant professor teaching broadcasting in the School of Media.

WBHS 9 from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee, was recognized as the Best High School Broadcast. The adviser is Ronnie Adcock.

The Aerial from Atherton High School in Louisville was recognized as the Best High School News Publication. The adviser is Matthew Rhinehart.

PLD Lamplighter from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington was recognized as the Best High School News Website The adviser is Wendy Turner.

The Crimson from duPont Manual High School in Louisville was recognized as the Best High School Yearbook. The adviser is Margaret Mattingly.

Noah True, a senior at Brentwood High School working on WBHS 9, was recognized as the Most Valuable Broadcast Staffer.

Maddee Brown, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville working on the Angeline, was recognized as the Most Valuable Yearbook Staffer.
