Summer Media Workshops
Summer Workshops
Our summer workshops won't be held in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We plan to resum holding high school workshops in summer 2022.
School of Media Summer Workshops
Western Kentucky University School of Media offers three dynamic workshops where students can spend five days immersed in their passion: broadcasting, film or photojournalism. Each course is taught by an experienced professional from the award-winning School of Media and will broaden the students’ awareness of their field in a fun, intensive and hands-on workshop.

Xposure Journalism Workshop
For more than 30 years, high school students from throughout Kentucky and the region have come to learn and do journalism at Western Kentucky University's Journalism Workshop. These students have shown an interest in journalism and came to the workshops with backgrounds under-represented in U.S. newsrooms. Some lacked the financial resources to attend journalism workshops. The Xposure High School Journalism Workshop hosted by the School of Journalism & Broadcasting at WKU continues that tradition.
The alumni of these workshops fill newsrooms throughout the country, helping to ensure that the news gatherers at media outlets mirror the diverse communities they serve.
