Student Research Accepted at National Analytics Competition

Kyla Scanlon, triple major in Economics, Finance, and Business Data Analytics, from Louisville, has been accepted to present her research at the Teradata University Network Analytics Challenge Competition in Las Vegas October 13-18.
Scanlon’s research, “Twitter & School Shootings: Determining the Effect and Detriment Through Sentiment Analysis” seeks to understand the relationship between linguists and terror attacks through collecting data on social media sites.
Scanlon will travel with her faculty mentor for the project, Dr. Leyla Zhuhadar, Associate Professor of Information Systems in the Gordon Ford College of Business.
