WKU to recognize 1,186 fall graduates on Dec. 11

Western Kentucky University’s five academic colleges will recognize more than 1,100 fall graduates in ceremonies on Saturday (Dec. 11).
During the daylong recognition ceremonies at Diddle Arena, WKU will confer degrees to 1,186 graduates – 18 doctoral, 153 master’s, one specialist, 839 bachelor’s and 56 associate degrees and 78 undergraduate and 41 graduate certificates. (More: Event parking)
The schedule for Saturday's ceremonies is as follows:
- 8 a.m.: Gordon Ford College of Business
- 10:30 a.m.: Potter College of Arts & Letters
- 1 p.m.: Ogden College of Science and Engineering
- 3:30 p.m.: College of Education and Behavioral Sciences
- 6 p.m.: College of Health and Human Services
Ceremonies will include the ceremonial conferral of degrees, remarks from college deans and recognition of scholars. The graduates also will be individually recognized and shake hands with President Timothy C. Caboni.
Zena Pare of Alvaton, a triple major in Economics, Corporate and Organizational Communication, and International Business, will be recognized as the Ogden Foundation Scholar during the 8 a.m. ceremony. WKU’s top undergraduate academic award is presented to one graduating baccalaureate degree senior who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and outstanding university and civic engagement.
The ceremonies will be broadcast on WKU PBS and on the WKU Facebook page and WKU YouTube channel.
Other fall graduation celebrations include:
- Walk-in Graduate Recognition at WKU in Elizabethtown, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. ET Wednesday (Dec. 8), WKU in Elizabethtown. During the Walk-in Graduate Recognition event, students are invited to stop by with their families and friends to celebrate, take photos, and pick up graduation stoles.
- Walk-in Graduate Recognition at WKU in Glasgow, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 9) at WKU in Glasgow. During the Walk-in Graduate Recognition event, students are invited to stop by with their families and friends to celebrate, take photos, and pick up graduation stoles.
- Mahurin Honors College Graduation Reception, 4 p.m. Friday (Dec. 10), Augenstein Alumni Center
- Cynthia and George Nichols III Intercultural Student Engagement Center (ISEC) Graduation Celebration, 6 p.m. Friday (Dec. 10), Downing Student Union Auditorium
- Doctor of Psychology in Applied Psychology Hooding Ceremony, 2 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 11), Gary Ransdell Hall, room 2064
