2022 Goldenrod Poetry Festival to Feature Guest Poet Whitnee Thorp

The 2022 Goldenrod Poetry Festival will be held on April 28 at 7 PM in Cherry Hall 125. The annual event is sponsored by the WKU English Club.
The Festival will feature a reading by Whitnee Thorp, who has published many works of poetry including Pasque Petals, Veils, Halos, and Shackles, and her two chapbooks, Cicurate and Kintsukuroi. Thorp, who hails from Lexington, Kentucky, holds a BA in English from WKU as well as an MA in Creative Writing from EKU. She is currently working towards her PhD in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Winners of the Goldenrod Poetry Contest will be announced at the event as well. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in a private poetry workshop with Thorp. This year’s Poetry Contest finalists are:
