Students: A New Academic Year on the Hill
- Monday, August 15th, 2022
Dear students,
I hope you share my excitement as we approach the start of a new academic year at WKU. Our faculty and staff worked incredibly hard this summer to prepare for your arrival on campus, and we can’t wait to welcome you home!
This summer, campus improvement projects moved ahead. As you return, you will notice work underway at the top of the Hill. This Hilltop Restoration Project will make the north end of campus more accessible and easier to navigate and provide unique spaces for learning and social activities - all while enhancing the most beautiful campus in the Commonwealth.
Our Hilltopper Family remains committed to ensuring your success throughout your WKU Experience. I cannot stress enough the importance of taking advantage of the many resources available to our students to ensure that you meet your goals. Stay in contact with your professors, advisors, hall directors and others; and, when necessary, ask for help.
Additionally, as part of the Hilltopper Family, you play an important role in the success and well-being of your peers. If you notice a friend or classmate struggling, do all that you can to connect them to the resources they need. Hilltoppers take care of one another.
Finally, I hope that you will make plans to join our campus community at 5:30pm on Friday, August 19, for our second annual Topper Fest, hosted on South Lawn. The event will feature live music from The Downtown Band. Students may use a meal swipe to purchase food from Aramark, and community food trucks will be available as well. The evening will conclude with fireworks at dark. You can learn more about Topper Fest here.
Our students remain the reason for everything we do at WKU. I look forward to seeing you on the Hill and celebrating your successes in the year ahead! Go Tops!
Best,
Timothy C. Caboni
